Welcome

Welcome to Honors Biology!

I am very excited to work with all my new students and parents/guardians this 2011-2012 school year. Honors Biology will be a challenging and interesting course. I look forward to great conversation and lots of learning in room H116.

The first assignment for honors biology (due friday) is for students to have their parent/guardian sign the following:

  • Safety contract
  • Course expectations sheet
  • Parent/Guardian Letter
By friday, students should also complete the course expectations scavenger hunt

In addition to this, students must bring (2) 3-ring binders to class by monday and complete their coat of arms by monday.

I would love for parents and students both to get involved with this blog. If you would like to begin communication this way, please start by leaving a comment on this post. Students--what are you looking forward to this school year? Parents--What do you want your child to take away from this class?

Happy September!

  1. My faverote topic we did so far was cancer. It was super interesting and I really enjoyed it. I didn't really like the metric system studies. It was kind of very boring. I can't wait to learn about DNA it's super cool.

  2. I agree with Casper, because cancer was a very interesting topic, but I also liked the cell division unit, because it was also interesting how cells go through all these stages just to multiply and heal wounds. I didn't really enjoy the traits of living things, because it was kinda boring took a while to make sense. I look forward to learning more about DNA it seems pretty cool.

  3. yes because you can know what to expect so you can prepare your self and your family for that. I wouldn't want to know because then I would have to face it and I would freak out. If the test was for cancer I would do it because then I might be able to treat it before it it could get to an advanced stage. Yes because I wouldn't want to start randomly twitching when not knowing why.
