If you decided to have a child one day and are given the opportunity to select for special traits, would you do so? Explain why or why not.

Blog Post 2--Genetic Testing

If you had the opportunity to be tested for a genetic disorder that would develop later in life, would you do it? What would make you want to know? What would make you not want to know? What if the test was for cancer? What if the test was for Huntington's disease? (think about the symptoms, etc of each). Please give THOUGHTFUL answers :)

Welcome to Honors Biology!

I am very excited to work with all my new students and parents/guardians this 2011-2012 school year. Honors Biology will be a challenging and interesting course. I look forward to great conversation and lots of learning in room H116.

The first assignment for honors biology (due friday) is for students to have their parent/guardian sign the following:

• Safety contract
• Course expectations sheet
• Parent/Guardian Letter

By friday, students should also complete the course expectations scavenger hunt

In addition to this, students must bring (2) 3-ring binders to class by monday and complete their coat of arms by monday.
