    2. Too lazy to do things and my English is not very good.

    1. Changing the goal.
      1. To get everything in the range of A
      2. Too lazy to do things and my English is poor.
      3. Work hard and play less computer games.
      4. I think satification after reaching my goal will be enough for me.

  2. 1. My goal for this quarter is to start working harder in class and on classwork and tests.

    2. My obstacles are a) laziness; I often lack motivation to work hard and study and b) other classes; I find that when i concentrate on my other classes I have less concentration and/or work ethic in bio

    3. I am going to overcome these obstacles by a) setting up schedules for myself to study and write down my goal and b) try to devote more attention to class as well as others

    4. I will reward myself with the satisfaction of knowing that I achieved the goal, maybe take myself out for a celebratory ice cream :)

    1. Although laziness is an obstacle, motivation and some encouragement are key aspects of overcoming them. At least that is for me. There's nothing you can't overcome with putting effort into improving. Keep up the work man

    2. that a great goal to have, i struggle with the same thing i always end up doing the bare minimum, because I'm just too lazy and not exited about the content.

  3. 1--my goal is to turn my work in on time and be aware when things are do and push myself to turn them in on time.
2--my obstacles are definitely being lazy and procrastinating.
3--i am going to overcome those obstacles by involving my parents in the work i need to turn in and also to remember what it feels like when i don't try very hard.
4--i will reward myself by knowing that i achieved the goal and knowing that i worked hard and pushed myself.

    2. My obstacles are being too lazy to study and I need to pay attention more in class.
3.My plan to overcome these obstacles is to try to study more and stop my thoughts from wandering in class.
4.My reward is getting better grades on tests and quizzes, that is enough of a reward.

    1. I will try to distract you less in class, buddy. Maybe.

    2. I have a major problem with quizzes for some apparent reason as well. I usually get D's on quizzes and get A's on my tests. Although it doesn't seem important since its only 10% of your grade, i think that it still helps to study for the little things as well.

    2. The Conley obstacles that can stop me from doing this is me not studying or paying attention in class.
3.My plan for overcoming these obstacles is to work harder on paying attention on class and to put mote studying in my schedule.
    4. Getting better grade on test would be my reward.

  6. My goal for the quarter is to focus more and pay attention more. Two obstacles are laziness and boredom. I can try to just remind my self of what my grade is now and what I want to bring it up to. I'll play videogames on weekdays if I do get my grade to where I want it to be.

    2. Ya, I feel totally the same way. Your Biology is the last period of the day, right? So that can be especially hard. I know you can do it Justin. You da man! Dude!

      Delete
    3. I know your pain. At the end of the day I never focus on what is supposed to be done. If someone is always talking to you try asking to move your seat, or try to not pay attention to them and they will eventually stop talking to you.

  7. My goal for the rest of the year is to maintain a 90 average and get higher test scores. Two obsatcles that could mess my goal up is sports and my short attention span. I could over come those goals by managing my time better and really focus. I will reward myself by getting a good gpa

  8. 1)My goal for this semester is to pay more attention and hand in all work on time.

    2) the only obstacles that can stop me from doing this is getting distracted or not aying attention. Also if I do not try hard on my work or study hard enough i will not succeed my goal.

    3) I will study very hard each day before a test and make sure i understand everything that happens in class.

    4) My reward is the credit i get for passing the course and the good grades.

  9. 1. My goal for this semester is to do better on my homework. This was one of my worsed grades last semester. I have second period study hall so I usually do my homework then. Usually though I am rushed and I don't do the best quality work. I need to get more of my work done at home so it will be of a higher quality.

I also wnt to studymore for tests. That is another really difficult thing to do for me because when I hear the only homework is "study for tests" I usually think, "Yay no Homework." So studying will be a hard thing for me, but I must, and will do it.

    2. One huge obstacle is the temptation of leaving my work until my study hall. The other one is my own love for free time which I should spend studying for tests.

    3. I am going to set aside special time for studying apart from my normal homework time. I am also going to get started on my Biology homework before my study hall.

    4. The grade I get on my report card will be a good enough reward for me.

    1. I agree i think you should spend more time at home doing your work than in second period study hall

  10. 1)My goal for this semester is to do better quality work and study more for tests and quizs.
    2) Some obstacles are being busy with other work and other activities.

    2. I agree with Wil R. Tell us how you are going to accomplosh these goals more specifically or detial. Whatever you get the point.

    3. Another good way to overcome your obstacles is to not have me as your lab partner, our lab grades weren't the best.

  11. 1) My goal for this quarter is to get at least an A if not an A+.
    2) Two obstacles could be if in all my other classes I have a large amount of work assigned along with science which might make it so I wouldn't have time or I just couldn't deal with all the work to do, and then I would fail the assignment for science. Another obstacle would be if I lost my notes or my notebook.
    3) I will try to avoid these obstacles by making time for school work before other things, and trying not to lose my work.
    4) I will give myself a pat on the back for achieving the goal I have set myself to achieve.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think your goal is not only achievable but sets a standard that is good, and will make you feel a lot better. Since you're in my lab group maybe we could go over each other's answers and give constrictive criticism about what we can improve.

      Delete
    2. Thanks, and I absolutely agree. That is an easy way to make sure we have both the same and right answers. The only thing is that we don't have a very long time in class to do the labs, but we can figure it out.

  12. 1) My goals for this next quarter are to study more for tests and quizzes and attend the review sessions so that I can get better grades on them and raise my GPA.
    2) Some obstacles that could prevent me from doing this is not spending enough time studying, not paying enough attention is class, and forgetting to go to the review sessions.
    3) To overcome these obstacles I can leave more time for studying and pay closer attention in class.
    4) If I reach this goal, the grade on my report card will be enough of a reward.

    1. I completely agree with you when you said that the grade on your report card will be enough of a reward! Maybe we could have a little study sesh in the morning before each test to better prepare both of us.

    2. I think that would be a great idea for both of you ladies! Good thought!

    3. nice goals Luna :) you should come to the review sessions at ms Newstubs (sp?) with mee haha

  13. My goal is to work harder on labs and look more at my assignment sheet because sometimes quizzes can sneak up on me when I'm unprepared

I tend to rush with the goal of just finishing the ab rather than doing quality work.
I when i finish my homework I'm done and just put it away and don't want to look at it again, instead of looking at my assignment sheet to see if there is anything else i should prepare for.

On the labs i will not rush and try to quality work and maybe get someone else edit my paper, or check it myself.
When I'm done with my homework i will make sure to look and my assignment sheet and see what lies ahead of me.

Like Luna said a better grade will be the best award

    1. Yeah, I do the same with labs. I sometimes feel rushed, so I just try to get it over asap, instead of taking the time to do it right.

      Delete
    2. Your goals involve looking at the assignment sheet more, whcih i think sounds great, because you can even catch things you weren't looking for, like if you're looking to see if there's a quiz and you notice a homework you would have forgotten otherwise. Also great job dedicating yourself to effort on labs, a lot of people underestimate their importance. Keep it up!

      Delete
  14. My goal is to increase my grade by at least 1 and a half letter grades by the end of the third quarter.

I tend to forget to look at the assignment sheet to see if there is homework, or when labs are due. If this habit continues, then that would be a very bad thing and could prevent me from getting to my goal. I also tend to procrastinate which is probably my biggest issue.

To achieve my goal I will do all the extra credit work, do all labs perfectly (or attempt to) and get at least a 95 on all my tests. I will also discipline myself to not do something fun until I get my work done. I will also try to spend a little more time making sure my work is my best.

If I achieve my goal I will reward myself with not feeling sick to my stomach which tends to happen when I get a grade I'm not happy with.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I also have trouble remembering to check the assignment sheet. I think the discipline of not doing anything is a little harsh... you could relax for a few minutes before getting into homework, it really helps me get prepared to finish all my work.

    2. Thanks Maggie :) Maybe when we achieve our goals we could make more trash sculptures? :)

      Delete
    3. Ellie,
I agree with Maggie. School work isn't meant to make you feel like you're never allowed to have any fun! You must take some time out for yourself as well...it's hard to find a balance, but worth it when you get the hang of it :)

  16. 1) My goal is to do overall better on tests and quizzes. I always love when i see a good test grade.

    2) An obstacle that i need to overcome is studying, I really hate studying. Another obstacle is not doing well on homework which is a serious issue I'm having lately.

    3) In order to overcome these goals I will need to remind myself that studying will get me a higher test grade and improve my overall grade. Doing all the homework, and doing the homework thoroughly will help.

    4) I guess just seeing my good test grade will make me happy enough. Being able to gloat about my grade will make me happy enough.

Since we're in the same lab group, I can totally help you with questions you have pertaining to the labs, which also help with solidifying concepts that we learn in our notes- that puts you one step closer to achieving your goal.

  18. 1. My goal is to get better test and quiz grades.

    2. Two obstacles for me are: studying hard enough and procrastination.

    3. I could overcome these obstacles by making sure I know the material that I didn't understand when we first learned it. Also, to not procrastinate by rewarding myself with something fun for working.

    4. If I complete my goal, I will be happy seeing higher on tests and quizzes!

  19. My goal is to achieve a higher test average in these up coming weeks.

Two obstacles that might keep me from achieving this goal would be not studying to the best of my ability, and losing focus throughout a lesson.

To overcome these obstacles I am going to come in and ask questions when I don't understand something and also try to pay more attention when we are taking notes.

My reward for achieving this goal would be a higher GPA and a better understanding of the curriculum.

    1. I think that's a great goal to achieve and overtime it will happen. I have that same feeling about not asking questions since no one in class seems to want to ask a lot of questions. I have that same problem though too. I think it's because people fear how other people are going to react.

    1. I think the idea of getting more sleep is a really great- staying up late to cram because you waited until the last minute is worthless if you're too tired to function in class the next day. I love your reward too!

  21. My goal is to Raise my grade by handing in more hw. I have been absent a lot and that is deff an obstacle. Also basketball sometimes gets in the way. I will accomplish my goal by being determined. the higher grade will be the reward.

  22. 1) My goal is to listen more, talk less, and be more polite to teachers in all of my classes.
    2) Obstacles I will have are friends who talk to me and not thinking before I speak or act.
    3) To overcome these obstacles, I'm going to try to not talking while the teacher is speaking, and if a friend or someone else talks to me, I'll talk to them at a more appropriate time. I'll also try my hardest to think before I speak or act and wait my turn when the teacher is busy with other people.
    4) If I do this, the reward won't be reflected in my grade, but I'll feel really good about being respectful and also hopefully earn the respect of my teachers.

  23. My goal is to study for every test and quiz, especialy quizes. I hope poeple will help me rememder to study. The biggest obstical is lazyness, i just dont want to, it takes to much effort and thinking. the other one is probibly forgetfulness. I geometry and some times gym right after biology, so things get lost before I start my homework. To overcome these i hope peole will remid me after school and like a 8 pm to study *Katie this means you PLEASE* as well as Ms. Sosnoski remind us at the end of the period to study. Hopefuly the good grades will be reward enough, but I will prodibly endulge in chocholate afterI get my good grade back.

  24. My goal for this quarter is to raise my grade up a letter grade will always getting all 85 or above on tests and quizzes. Two obstacles that may prevent me from reaching my goal is that I have a hard time studying and coming in for study sessions. Another obstacle is that I'm distracted easily and so I tend to stray from my work. I'm going to try and overcome these obstacles by coming to all the review sessions. And also trying to stay as focused as possible. I think a good reward that I can give myself is just the grade itself. And also maybe just a chance to chill and not worry about Biology for awhile! Haha.

  25. My goal is to do better on tests and to bring my grade up to an A. Some obstacles that could get in the way are being too tired to do my homework and my poor ability to stay focused during class. Im going to over come these obstacles by getting more sleep at night and keeping my mind clear of every thing besides biology during class. If I complete my goals then I will get the reward of satisfaction, and my mom said she would take me to the CSI museum in Washington.

  26. My goal is to get a better grade, a B+ or higher. Some things that might get in the way are the amount of extracurricular activities I have and that I get sick all the time. I can accomplish my goal if I study more for tests and stay healthy so I don't have to miss so much school! I'll make sure to get sleep and take vitamins to stay healthy! If I achieve my goal, I'll be happy and I'll be less stressed which I think is enough of a reward in itself. I might also go out for ice cream or something like that.

  27. - My goal is to study for every test and to get good test grades.
    - 1) procrastinating 2) not asking for help when I don't understand things
    - Im going to overcome these by making studying easier by doing something like flashcards or maybe an app on my phone that will help me study and I'm going to go into the bio help room before tests
    - My reward will be being happy about my grades and happy with myself and being able to chill out a little

  28. 1. My goal is to do better on homework and always know what the homework is, because sometimes i don't always write all of it down and I forget. I also want to bring my grade up to an A
    2. One obstacle that gets in my way is procrastination. I really need to not procrastinate anymore...and another obstacle is I sometimes zone out during announcements and I don't write all of the homework down
    3. I will push myself to not get off task during homework anymore and I will always pay attention to announcements and look at the assignment sheet so I always know what he homework is.
    4. The grade would be a reward itself and also getting more sleep at night. I won't get distracted from my work and I would end up going to bed earlier

    1. I totally agree! My goal is to also do all my homework. Sometimes we get homework in all subjects and the work load can be pretty stressful! I also dont write all assignments down which sometimes makes me get behind and start to miss a lot of homeworks and just easy points that I should be getting! I think we should both get planners, if you do not already have one and when we get our unit sheet which has all the assignments on it , we should write them down and make sure they get done! Another thing which is sort of funny is we live on the same street hahaa and ride the same bus so we can remind eachother when we get off the bus to do our bio! Haha maybe sometime we could get togather and study for a test or something(: well goodluck with your goal hope you achieve it girl!

    2. The first obstacle to achieving my goal is procrastination, and my second obstacle is time restriction.
    3. I can overcome these obstacles by making time for my homework when I'm scheduling things in the future and I can just start doing my homework to stop my procrastinating.

  32. 1. My goals are to keep my grade in the 90's on grade reports for the rest of the year and to improve my test grades to always 80% and above.
    2. One obstacle would be the fact that my goals are very specific so I'll always need to keep them in mind and always try my hardest, and a second obstacle would be making due I have the time to do some extra studying.
    3. I'll overcome these by maybe going in for extra help more when a concept confuses me and by doing more of my homework/studying on my own so I know I'm fully focused and trying my best to understand.
    4. If I reach my goal... Which I'm not sure I will, I will reward myself by baking myself cookies and hanging wiff some friends. I feel selfish because so many other people said the better grades would be a reward all by itself. But yes, that too :)

  33. My goal for this quarter is to get above a 90 on my overall average.
One obstacle that will stand in my way when I am trying to achieve my goal will be how busy I am and how little time I have for homework and studying. Another obstacle will be trying hard to remember what my homework is and remembering to do it, and remembering to turn in my warm-ups.
I will overcome these obstacles by writing myself notes and trying hard to do my work efficiently and get enough sleep.
If I achieve my goal I will buy myself a REALLY JUMBO pack of sour patch kids. And I will get an A which means I will have a better future :)

  34. My goal for the third marking period is to successfully complete every homework assignment that is assigned. I not only want to just do the homework to just get it over with and earn my homework points, I am really striving to actually know what the homework is about, understand it, and to take my time on it. Two obstacles that could mess my goal up are not managing my time when it comes time to do my homework (have to make sure I comete ALL my homework not just biology!) and when lacrosse season comes make sure I make an enormous effort to keep up this goal and not fall back to bad habits of missing homeworks. I will overcome these obstacles by coming home from practice take a little relaxing break because that is important to let yourself take a break then not get carried away or destracted and do all my homework! I will also keep up on writing every assignment down in a planner so I don't forget to comete any homework. The reward if I do follow through and keep up this goal will really be the overall homework section points which will help boost my grade up! It will also make me feel really good because I would know that I stuck to this goal, didn't give up, and shows that when I set a goal for myself I won't stop till I reach it. (: - Kathleen

2.One obstacle is having my textbook when I have basketball practice. Another is if the homework is difficult or I don't understand it.
3.I can overcome these obstacles by bringing my textbook with me on days that I have practice and I can get help from Ms. Sosnoski or another student.
4.One reward will be a better grade but I'm not sure about an acual reward, do you guys have any ideas?

3.Only doing FB on weekends, Sudy for quiz more.
    4.I will get better grades.

3.I can overcome these obstacles by writing down my home work everyday and stop being lazy!

  39. 1. I'm satisfied with my grade, so I just want to keep up my grade, or even earning an extra one point would be great! But my goal is to be more thorough with lab questions, and do the lab cover sheets regularly, and actually study for quizzes.

    2. Other hw, from other classes would be an obstacle. When I'm tight on schedule, it's often hard to stay up an extra hour just to study. Another obstacle would be just laziness....

    3. I would have to remind myself whenever I'm doing work (labs), to make sure I'm putting my best effort. I can fill out the lab cover sheets as soon as I get my labs back.

    4. Satisfication would be enough ! :)

    1. Esther, our goals are really similar! We both need to be more detailed with lab questions and study for quizzes. Maybe we can remind each other when we have quizzes so neither one of us forgets :)

    2. I totally agree with you on the point that it's hard to stay up an extra hour just to study especially when projects or bunches of hw is due in other classes. I hope you can keep up your grades!!

  40. My goal... Get an 85 average in this class. Being a lazy bum, and crew could get in my way. Due to the lack of time, and then the time i do have, I want to sleep. Coffee. Coffee will give me the energy to stay awake. And if I can do this, ill sleep for an entire day. yup. i will.

  41. 1) I want to raise my grade by 5 points especially on tests always get above an 82.
    2) Other classes and not concentrating on Bio as much. Not understand some units.
    3) Evaluate the importance of each subject and actually study
    4) Chocolate.. not sure.

    1. I think when you don't understand a unit you could go in to Ms. Sosnoski's class before or after school to ask for help on confusing subjects.

  43. My goal is to get a 90 or more. But sometimes I'm too busy or lazy to do my homework on time. I will not procrastinate, keep my binder organize, do my labs and study for quizzes and tests. My reward will be he satisfaction, and I will relax and do whatever I want that week.

  44. 1. I want to stay organized in my class binder, instead of just putting my papers in a folder. I also want to study more, and spend more time on my work.

    2. Sometimes I spend time thinking about other classes and other activities when I should be working on biology. Biology isn't a subject that is really easy for me, so I should work more with biology, instead of easier classes. Some days, I don't have enough time to do a thorough job on all of my work.

    3. I can read over what I write, and make sure that I did everything I could. I won't procrastinate.

    4. I'll just be really glad that I met my goal, and I'll be proud of what I did to achieve it. I might make some cookies, though.

  46. My goal is to do better on quizzes and be more thorough with homework this half of the year.
Distraction both inside and outside school can keep me from achieving this goal. Sports for instance.
To overcome these obstacles, I will stay focused and be sure I study after we learn something new.
If I study ahead of time and know the information, I will be able to go to bed earlier which rewards me with more sleep. :)

  47. My goal for this quarter is to maintain a grade of at least 90 and help other people in my lab group as much as I can and see them get good grades as well. one obstacle that could occur could be myself. I might not fully understand the content of the unit and may be of no help to the people around me. Another obstacle could be I might not have enough time to study for tests or quizzes because of time management. I'm usually busy after school and don't get to start homework until 7:30 at earliest. Some things that i might do to over come these obstacles are to receive help from others and not be the person who doesn't want to ask a question even though there might be other people in the room who have the same one. I won't really receive anything special from achieving my goal besides taking the fact that I can accomplish a mind set goal and take it even further.

    2)Obstacles:
    - I am easily distracted
    - My memory's not the best
3)I am going to write my assignments down and try to get things to stay in my long-term memory. I will also try to listen and focus more.
4)If i reach my goal it will make me happy which is rewarding.

2)Sometimes I forget or am lazy
I am sometimes late from gym, which would forfeit my homework points.

2- poor time management and procrastination are two obstacles to my goal.

    3) To overcome my goal I will try my hardest to not fall asleep and to pay more attention and stay on task.

    3. To overcome this obstacles I need to push past my negative mind set on test taking. Also I need to read through the material more thoroughly until I actually understand it.

  60. For this quarter, my goal is to get an overall better grade, especially improving my homework grade.

Two obstacles I might run in to are that I have lots of activities after school, and that I procrastinate when I'm doing my homework.

To overcome these obstacles I will try to stay more organized with my labs and homework, and make more time for studying by staying organized. I will try to stay more focused when I'm doing my homework so it takes less time for me to get it done.

I think that the satisfaction of getting a better grade will be enough of a reward.
